powder snow drifts
like down cascading
to rest upon the pines
“and when i die”
we’ll play your songs again
through which light shines
and now the coals are cold, i know
wherever we go
the scent of the ashes
sprawled out
on the floor of your mom’s house
in the mountains at midnight
so why not believe
in souls for a while?
down cascading
in caves
breath in
to learn
the words
of birds
down cascading
formed like swirling mist
in a golden pink sunrise
that never left me
in caves

This is a soundtrack for a book I wrote. The music was composed and recorded by Andrew Dorsett and Eli Moore, from the band LAKE! They are amazing, and this soundtrack is really beautiful. Patrick McHale
The title is accurate; this is a collection of preliminary songs for Over the Garden Wall. In its short run time, it has peaceful instrumentals, tinted with a hint of melancholy, a few upbeat and humorous songs, and one that's genuinely pretty menacing.
It's fun to listen to this album and picture how it expands the world of Over the Garden Wall. Imagine the uses of these songs, either in the episodes that we have or those never made. Great album. sam_125
