it’s getting late
we’d better go
you can share my sleeve
put your arm in my coat
we walked past your house
so we could talk
don’t me make laugh so loud
you’ll wake up the dog
it’s like the love you felt in high school
the weight on your chest
it isn’t real until it hurts you
just like the songs always said
the water’s filled with slime
littered with tires
i dare you to swim
i’m not going in
someone knocked the wasp nest out of the tree
i tried to call for help but i could hardly breath
its just the same as love
it hurt just the same as love
i can’t hear you
please wake up
please wake up
i can’t leave you here
it’s like the pain you felt in high school
the weight on you chest
it isn’t love until it hurts you
just like the songs always said
it’s like the pain you felt in high school
the weight on your chest
it isn’t love until it hurts you
just like the songs always said

This is a soundtrack for a book I wrote. The music was composed and recorded by Andrew Dorsett and Eli Moore, from the band LAKE! They are amazing, and this soundtrack is really beautiful. Patrick McHale
The title is accurate; this is a collection of preliminary songs for Over the Garden Wall. In its short run time, it has peaceful instrumentals, tinted with a hint of melancholy, a few upbeat and humorous songs, and one that's genuinely pretty menacing.
It's fun to listen to this album and picture how it expands the world of Over the Garden Wall. Imagine the uses of these songs, either in the episodes that we have or those never made. Great album. sam_125
