Isaiah Russell Outstanding and extremely transportive concept album. The final track floors me every time. Very excited for more music from Pat. Favorite track: Exhume.

corey stephens I really enjoyed the feel of this album. It's pretty cohesive and really creates a specific environment. Something about it made think of a Creole and New Orleans-esque vibe. Favorite track: Ain't Shallow Enough.

Seán So many of the songs on this album transport me to a place that I love, and I really appreciate the diverse styles. I may not know what the full concept was going to be, but it definitely feels like a story unfolding. Favorite track: Ain't Shallow Enough.

about

This album is really a collection of demos for a concept album I wrote in 2005-2006. Since I'm never going to actually make a polished version of the album, I thought I might as well release it as is.

It's current state is not perfectly in line with the original intention, so I gave it a different name (original name was "Be Still Thy Roots Beneath the Soil"). I probably shouldn't have included track 9... that was sort of a joke. Like a skeleton hand coming out of a grave in the last shot of a movie. Oh well.

Apologies for the rough recording quality and low volume!

The songs on this album were all written in 2005-2006.

The recordings were all made in 2007-2009 (except additional instrumentation on "Death Come Slow" added in 2011 by Isaac Gillespie).

Album was finally compiled and released in 2015.
